The History of Dolce & Gabbana
By Jamie Simpson

Dolce & Gabbana is a company started by two Italian designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Little did they know that they would go on to develop the global brand of D&G watches, clothes, sunglasses and more. The couple opened their first D & G Studio in 1982 in Milan, Italy. The studio struggled until the two designers decided to go to the Milano Colleziono Fashion show in October of 1985. The designers were seen as having potential and as rising new designers. With that encouragement, the pair worked on their first collection and released it one year later and called it "real woman".

Although they are still considered as being young to the fashion industry, the designers have made a fortune with their fashion house of Dolce & Gabbana. One of their drawing cards is their high profile clients like Madonna. Dolce and Gabbana designed one of Madonna's wardrobes that she wore on one of her world tours. Madonna is not the only highly visible model for their brilliantly designed clothing. Some of their other clients are Sophia Loren and the Beckhams.

Dolce & Gabbana may be a young fashion house but they are considered one of the most influential and powerful houses in the world of high fashion. From their simple beginnings in 1985 at the Milan fashion show where they showed their homemade designs of intricate patterns and complex fastenings, to the outfitting of some of the world's most famous women, Dolce & Gabbana have seemingly taken control of the world of fashion.

Their 1985 show was inspired by the works of Sophia Loren. They later were inspired by gangster pinstripes and the sexy black suits as well as corset dresses. The pair claims that they became obsessed with emphasizing the female curves when they visited Sicily in 1989. It was then when Dolce & Gabbana clothing was being shown in Tokyo. When Dolce & Gabbana visited New York City, their presence as a premier house of fashion was settled.

Also, in 1989 Dolce & Gabbana signed an agreement with a Japanese group called the Kashiyama Group. They opened their first boutique in Japan in 1989 and also introduced their first men's collection of designer clothes two years later in their Japanese boutique.

D&G watches then followed. In 2000, the designers Dolce & Gabbana joined the highly prestigious Italian watchmakers the Binda Group, and added a touch of high sparkling fashion to the line of watches begun by Innocent Binda in a tiny town near Lake Maggiore in Italy in 1906.

One reason why Madonna and Sophia Loren have picked the clothing designed by Dolce & Gabbana is since they make women look in their own words, "fantastically sexy". Their designs are inspired by historical periods like the feminist era which they re tool into extremely glamorous and very modern clothing.

The D&G brand extends into a variety of fashion departments. Time Centre Online offer a large selection of D&G watches.

Luxury and Fashion Through D&G Sunglasses

Luxury and Fashion Through D&G Sunglasses

Dolce & Gabbana is an Italian brand which specializes in exclusive luxury products. Its timeless creations are influenced by the creative vision of the designers who are well aware of the exclusivity that their clients expect from the brand. Carrying the responsibility of making their clientele fashionable, Dolce & Gabbana, popularly known as D&G, has never gone wrong with the way it designs its sunglasses for the niche and sophisticated.

The range of D&G designer sunglasses is more of a casual range and is targeted to impress the urban society which is responsive to evident changes in fashion. Many celebrities have happily agreed to endorse the eye-wear collection by D&G as the brand has a sense of status attached to it and the fashion can never go wrong with a pair of D&G sunglasses.

The men’s sunglasses and the women’s sunglasses collection by D&G have a beautiful variety of frames. Different materials are used to create different shapes and effects. Aluminum, Gold, metal and plastic are some of the materials which are commonly used for creating new designs at D&G Sunglasses. A variation with material gives the designers an extra room to experiment and bring out the best for the customers. There are over twenty five different colors for the frames which makes the collection appear bright, vivid and attractive to the human eye.

The designs are made to suit the needs of the young and hip. D&G DD8067 is an eclectic design for the ladies with an unusual plastic frame which has two color options. The black designer goggles by the brand are more suitable for the serious ones who prefer to have a pair to go with everything they wear. The Havana brown frame is more appropriate for the fashionable ladies who like to experiment and change with the changing trends.

The D&G DD8063 women’s sunglasses are unique and designer. This model reminds you of the retro style which goes well with denims, polka dots and high waist dresses. Coming in four different color options, they speak of the selective choice you have for designer stuff. It is a bold design and sporting these shades is like announcing that yes, you are fashionable. The femininity in the design is reinforced by the choice of colors, a broad frame to suit the feminine face and soft angles that provide delicacy to your image. The curves in the frame helps the sunglasses to settle well in place and makes you feel comfortable and not conscious when you go out.
