The History of Dolce & Gabbana
By Jamie Simpson
Dolce & Gabbana is a company started by two Italian designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Little did they know that they would go on to develop the global brand of D&G watches, clothes, sunglasses and more. The couple opened their first D & G Studio in 1982 in Milan, Italy. The studio struggled until the two designers decided to go to the Milano Colleziono Fashion show in October of 1985. The designers were seen as having potential and as rising new designers. With that encouragement, the pair worked on their first collection and released it one year later and called it "real woman".
Although they are still considered as being young to the fashion industry, the designers have made a fortune with their fashion house of Dolce & Gabbana. One of their drawing cards is their high profile clients like Madonna. Dolce and Gabbana designed one of Madonna's wardrobes that she wore on one of her world tours. Madonna is not the only highly visible model for their brilliantly designed clothing. Some of their other clients are Sophia Loren and the Beckhams.
Dolce & Gabbana may be a young fashion house but they are considered one of the most influential and powerful houses in the world of high fashion. From their simple beginnings in 1985 at the Milan fashion show where they showed their homemade designs of intricate patterns and complex fastenings, to the outfitting of some of the world's most famous women, Dolce & Gabbana have seemingly taken control of the world of fashion.
Their 1985 show was inspired by the works of Sophia Loren. They later were inspired by gangster pinstripes and the sexy black suits as well as corset dresses. The pair claims that they became obsessed with emphasizing the female curves when they visited Sicily in 1989. It was then when Dolce & Gabbana clothing was being shown in Tokyo. When Dolce & Gabbana visited New York City, their presence as a premier house of fashion was settled.
Also, in 1989 Dolce & Gabbana signed an agreement with a Japanese group called the Kashiyama Group. They opened their first boutique in Japan in 1989 and also introduced their first men's collection of designer clothes two years later in their Japanese boutique.
D&G watches then followed. In 2000, the designers Dolce & Gabbana joined the highly prestigious Italian watchmakers the Binda Group, and added a touch of high sparkling fashion to the line of watches begun by Innocent Binda in a tiny town near Lake Maggiore in Italy in 1906.
One reason why Madonna and Sophia Loren have picked the clothing designed by Dolce & Gabbana is since they make women look in their own words, "fantastically sexy". Their designs are inspired by historical periods like the feminist era which they re tool into extremely glamorous and very modern clothing.
The D&G brand extends into a variety of fashion departments. Time Centre Online offer a large selection of D&G watches.

Trends in Sunglasses for 2010
Trends in Sunglasses for 2010
Every year marks the launch of new sunglass designs from various fashion houses. The latest designs are based on the feedback from the sunglasses’ connoisseurs as well as the designer’s own imagination. A whole process goes into the launch of new sunglass collection every year and sometimes, every season. The story for planned launches of 2009 is no different.
The trends in sunglasses for 2009 indicate the continuation of innovation from the designers to explore new fashion horizons. The previous year saw the designer houses, like Gucci and Versace coming up with some unique frames and improved lenses. The trends in sunglasses for 2009 are expected on the similar lines where demands from people will vary according to their tastes and preferences.
Lessons from the past are, hopefully, learnt and the mistakes in some designs won’t be repeated in 2009. However, some designs that are considered evergreen in the industry are expected to be followed, albeit with minor variations. For instance, tortoise shell frames are designed by every fashion house and repeated every year. The demand for this trendy look is always high due to celebrity endorsement.
Retro look is also considered quite hip and is expected to generate tremendous response from those who observe fashion from close quarters. In fact, the style pundits are predicting a revival of sorts for designer sunglasses in 2009. The latest trends in sunglasses for 2009 are already indicating a spurt in demand for the 70s, 80s, and 90s look. The John Lennon round glasses are, in particular, in great demand.
The replica sunglasses, as usual, are already disappearing from the shelves at a rapid pace. Their attraction lies in their highly competitive prices and top quality. Available at a fraction of the cost of their authentic counterparts, inspired sunglasses come in all shapes and sizes. The raw material used in the manufacture of discount sunglasses is almost similar to that used by the designers in the manufacture of their masterpieces. Even UV protection is provided by these imitation sunshades.
Considering the scenario where the global economy is heading, if the trends in sunglasses for 2009 are anything to go by, this year will prove to be a watershed year for replica sunglasses for their ‘value-for-money’ products that are simply too good to resist!
I am freelancer that writes about latest trends in replica sunglasses for men and women. I love to shop for designer replica sunglasses at cheap discounted price. Trends in Sunglasses for 2009
Fashion Industry is volatile, the trends that were popular last year is no more in demand this year.
